Treasure Adventure World was selected to be a part of the Digital Games Showcase at the Boston Festival of Indie Games. It’s being held on Sept 13th in Boston, MA. So, if you’re already going, or are near Boston you should come visit us. We’ll be showing off the updated combat system and a new boss battle that we’ve finished.

As a part of the show, visitors can vote for their favorite games in a number of categories. The winners will receive a “Figgie” Award. I wouldn’t mind winning one of those. :)

RoadMap to Treasure

Announcement | Design & Development | Progress Report 2 2 Comments

It’s always difficult to predict the development time for a game as big as Treasure Adventure World. I confess: when I began this project I was sure it would be finished by now. But here we are and not only is it not finished, but it seems like it’s become a never-ending quest. I am sometimes overwhelmed by the amount of time I have dedicated to this project. It’s become a significant percentage of my life. That’s why I decided I needed to get a handle on how far we’ve come and how much we have left to do. I did an inventory of all our assets, and I’ve begun keeping track of the progress of each element of the game. This has ultimately led to our RoadMap to Treasure!

The RoadMap to Treasure is a public version of our in-house development RoadMap. This way all fans/backers/media/etc. can get a quick glimpse at where we are with different elements of the game. We will be updating the RoadMap as significant content is added. I hope you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much we have done, as I was! Doing this RoadMap will not only help us get a handle on development, it has also given us all a boost of confidence as we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

If you’re in the greater Philadelphia region with nothing to do this weekend, you should come to the TooManyGames Expo in Oaks, PA. We’re bringing the latest build of the game and we have a fresh supply of swag (buttons and posters). And you can also do what I’ll be doing (time permitting) and look for some good deals on old games.

Minecon 2013

We’re exhibiting in the Indie Showcase near the arcade area. Our booth number is I09 – Robit Studios – you can find us on the map.

Our Next Stretch Goal – Animated Cinematic

Announcement 2 2 Comments

animatic_scenesIt’s been a long time coming, but, we’re finally ready to announce our next stretch goal for the pre-order campaign.

Upon reaching a total of $17,500, we will commission a fully animated cinematic for Treasure Adventure World. This animation will bring the characters and world of the game to life.

We have the amazingly talented (and beloved) animator, Adam Phillips, on board. In addition, our own Robert Ellis will compose an original score to accompany it.

The images you see to the right are still-shots from the storyboard/animatic we’re using to create the cinematic. These sketches are just a rough sample of what the final animation will look like.

Besides covering the cost to commission this animation, reaching this goal will help us cover our normal expenses as we continue developing the game.

We can only make this happen with your help! If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, we hope this stretch goal will entice you. If you’ve already have pre-ordered, thank you! But, you can still help by telling your friends about Treasure Adventure World and spreading the love on all the social medias.
